6 tracks, 50 minutes. Originally issued in 1984 on vinyl, and previously repackaged with other releases, Gyllenskold is now presented as initially intended. One of the first NWW to feature David Tibet of Current 93, it also features Clint Ruin (aka Jim Thirlwell, aka Foetus). Another in the series of reissues, returning NWW recordings to their original packaging.
Nurse With Wound formed in 1978 and originally included Steven Stapleton, John Fothergill and Heman Pathak. Their early recordings were heavily influenced by free improvisation and Krautrock and were generally considered industrial music, despite objections of the label from the group. By 1981, only Stapleton was left from the original trio.
Gyllensköld, Geijerstam And I At Rydberg\'s features contributions from David Tibet, Christine Glover, Flora McCrindell, Diana Rogerson, Clint Ruin and Roman Jugg. It\'s one of David Tibet\'s earliest appearances with NWW and the first ‘proper’ recordings David made with NWW after Stapleton asked him to join the group.
It was recorded at IPS in 1982 and released on 12 inch vinyl on Belgian label Laylah records, 1984. The title is a reference to Swedish authors Vilhelm Carlheim-Gyllensköld, Gustaf Af Geijerstam and Viktor Rydberg (all contemporaries of August Strindberg), and is taken from Strindberg\'s book From An Occult Diary.
Gyllensköld... was also issued by United Dairies on cassette in combination with Brained By Falling Masonry in 1986 and reissued on CD (once again combined with Brained, along with additional material) in yet another version by United Dairies in 1993 under the title Large Ladies With Cake In The Oven (Gyllensköld/Mawsookedorwranj/Brained).
