Gossip

Basic info:

Formerly known as the Pieces, the band was formed in the summer of 2003, Xi’an, a major city located in the center of China. Not long after their formation, the band wrote music with both indie-pop and dream-pop styles while later adapted and focused on the more favorable style of indie-rock.

Ever since their debut appearance on the stage of underground music in Xi’an, the band has been playing an active role in joining numerous live shows around the city, including the exclusive show of Happy Avenue, a famous rock band from Beijing, the special memorial shows of the 3^rd anniversary of demoncn.com, a leading website focusing on the development of Chinese avant-garde art. The band also joined the shows of exclusive show of alternative music in Xi’an, sound experiment Vol.8 and so on. Their debut demo ‘Purple  Tunnel’ was self-released in Jul,2004 when the first vocal left the band. The second vocal Xu Qian joined the band in Aug, 2004 and has stayed with the band til now.

Gossip disbanded for a time at the beginning of 2006. However, after solving series of problems the band took off once again since Mar.25^th, 2006.

The band officially changed the name into Gossip on Apr.16^th, 2006.
