Jeans Team start the band in 1995 as a duo constisting of Franz Schütte and Reimo Herford. They found the legendary GALERIE BERLINTOKYO in Berlin Mitte and play their first official shows. To these shows Reimo and Franz performed to a preproductive video, they act as the companion volume. The 45 minute video `Baby` (1996) is the first release of Jeans Team.
In 1997 Gunter Kreis and Henning Watkinson complete the band and the `virtuell accompanist` was needless -now Jeans Team becomes a quartet consisting of flesh and blood. The namegiven luminous advertising is dismantle of a corner house in Berlin Wedding and illuminate from that time on the Jeans Team live shows.
After their compilation contributions on the gallery label `Spielkreis` and `Bungalow` follows the first tour through germany. To release the both singles `Hi Fans` and `Ein Atom` Jeans Team found their own label `Nadel Eins` in 1998. The singles include three instrumental punkversions. Following yet another tour and gigs in Paris and Amsterdam.
In 1999 Jeans Team record their debut album `Ding Dong` and tour through Germany. "Ding Dong" is been recorded in their own `Nadel Eins Studio` and released it in June 2000 on Kitty-Yo. Among with new tracks the album contains versions of their singles `Ein Atom`and `Hi Fans!`. The band creates a new art of electronic popmusic, composed of hypnotic melodies and dry rhythms packaged in skeleton arrangements. The Lyrics mostly contain little words, more they are emotional slogans to appeal the mind to dance. `Ding Dong` is actually in all favourite magazines. In face of the german lyrics, abroad people love the album.
At the record launch show Jeans Team invite other artists to cover their tracks live: Stereo Total, Peaches, Poptarts, MJ Lan, Mina, Doc Schoko, Kissogram, Minichev, 100 Rec. and Duma. Some of the versions that the audience is listening the first time will appear later on Jeans Team's most successful single release: "Keine Melodien" is including the title track remixed by MJ Lan (Low Spirit) and covered by Peaches (she will play it frequently at her own live shows the following years).
The band tours in Germany and Austria and performs on the Benicassim-Festival in Spain.
In spring 2001: Re-Release of `Keine Melodien` including the remixes of PEACHES, OP:L BASTARDS and JOHANNES HEIL, out on Kitty-Yo/V2. The video rotates on Viva and MTV. `Keine Melodien` is released on lots of compilations and everywhere in the international clubs on DJ playlists. The single sells about 15.000 copies worldwide!
Furthermore a Jeans Team tour together with PEACHES in Skandinavia and meet up with like-minded people: OP:L BASTARD and AAVVIKKO. Together with the annual german tour they perform many festivals - Melt (Ger), Fusion (Ger), Puch (Ger) and Roskilde (DK).
In winter 2001 they take a break to finalise their study paths - art, cut and architecture.
Back in 2002 with the EP `Gold und Silber` (KY) including three new songs and over-worked old tracks of `Ding Dong`. The sound is more extensive, the production more dance oriented. Sim Gil shoot a video of `Baby 3`. `Gold und Silber` is the first Jeans Team release in Skandinavia on Pluxemburg. The EP attrac attention overseas. Tour in Germany, Spain, UK and Scotland.
At the end of 2002 they start working on their second LP in their studios. It takes one year to finish the record. Together with TARWATER the team is invited to do a JOHN PEEL SESSION on BBC in London. In May they go to Russia to perform in several Russian cities: Nischnij Novgorod, Samara, Saratov, Rostow-am-Don and Moscow. Furthermore they play in Portugal, Sweden and Norway.
MOTOROLA use `Hi Fans!` in one of their mobile spots telecasted in Asia. The Band is visual part of it. They pay a part of their earned money for the synthesizer legend SYNCLAVIERII.
In the beginning of 2004 they release the Debut CD of their sideproject ELEKTROSERVICE. It´s the output of a 6 hours live performance in the rooms of the gallery NEUE DOKUMENTE.
Jeans Team plays increasingly shows overseas (Sweden, Norway, France, Spain and Portugal).
In the same year the second album of Jeans Team `Musik von Oben` gets ready. It´s a continuation of `Gold und Silber`. Now only two of the collective 10 tracks are pure instrumentals, the instrument enriched to blowers, zither, harmonium, omnichord, stelldrums and gongs. Now there is a new forum for programmed structures and free play. First time they work with guestsingers: SONYA MORARU sings `MOARA MEA` in rumanian, ELLI MEDEIROS specify her friends on `ARTHUR`.
