Korean-Japanese duo 10 have began a Chinese tour, taking them from Beijing to Hong Kong and back, with a few stops along the way. The experimental duo has gained a reputation for having a playful and engaging live performance not often found in laptop based music. Dressed entirely in red, Marqido plays laptop, and Itta sings and manipulates toys and percussion. Previously 10 worked in an ambient noise style, but they are starting to incorporate electronic drumbeats into their music, giving them a rhythmic feel akin to Krautrock groups like Neu!. As a plus for their tour, they will play with some of China’s best noise rock bands, including Muscle Snog on April 18th in Shanghai, and Carsick Cars on May 31st in Beijing.
