Surprise Yourselves——RandomK (e)

We talked about this band beginning with such a Gossipy question: Are they a Chinese band or foreign?

       But the members of band are really bored of such kind of doubts. The drummer Kang, who has tumble hair and hippy style, told us firmly;'' If we are not a Chinese band, what we would be? We have to go on our band in Beijing, because only under some circumstances of Beijing, we can build and develop RandomK (e)."

Kang’s Chinese name is Kang Jia'en, and his old name is Jon Campbell. Moved to China eight years ago, now he is an editor in z Magazine which is published in mainland of China. I first know him is in a live concert performed a Finland band called Magyar Posse at Two Best Friends club. Because of the first snow in the winter, the Thursday's show of my friends' is deserted. The guitarist Harry looked at those ten spectators and said:” OK, I know that few people came here, and Niu (he pointed at me) also suggested me to cancel the show, but I believe you guys come here just because you know Magyar Posse, right? Therefore, we decide that we will wear the best selection of our band to all of you."

      Harry studied the Chinese 'SELECTION’ just now from his new friend Lu Fei who stood under the stage. His use is very properly and correct.

     Kang came in when Magyar Posse performed their selections of best songs. He ended up his band's show just now. He dropped the Microphone carelessly, so the security men demanded them to compensate for the losses, they argued to the point of fighting with each other. The incident put her in a bad mood, now he still has a great impression;” Security men had no right to detain us. This was the business of organizers and officers who were in charge of the stage. They are so unprofessional, and you know there was nothing wrong with the microphone.  

“That’s right. Have you heard a Beijing's band called The Sand? They have such lyric maybe is suitable here: ‘So F**kin'。。。”I beat the drum cattily, because I never liked that place before.
  

    These are some sight lights when I interviewed RandomK (e) several days ago.Kang always say some words which makes me surprise and impressive. Maybe you can feel such a great impression in the following interview. But now, let’s flash back to the night of Magyar Posse' show at Two Best Friends club. Both Harry and Kang said the after the show, that seemed that they were much too congenial. When he left ,Kang tell me that :"This is the best band and best show I ever seen."

    And he repeated it to me four month later. But another word he said is more impressive for me:’ The excellent music works is of vital importance just like one part of people's body, but most of people have never known their bodies.

    Otherwise, they just know only one part.

  　Why don't we begin with a dialog just like other common interviews but a length and tedious trifles whish have none business with our interviewee?

    That's because Miss Editor send me to interview them. But I hold that both RandomK (e) and Magyar Posse are very typical just like the specimen, which is at least proper for our home bands or rockers. They are pretty professional and passionately fond of music. Depends on it, the language doesn't keep from the communication, and that's why Kang is confused and even angry with our doubtless to his identity of Chinese-foreigners. In these Chinese-foreigners’' eyes, music surely has such a kind of power that can surpass the limit of region and race. It is enough for people just to think about why it's so fine when they listen to the good music. Once they search who writes the songs, maybe it's a little tacky.

      It seems somewhat occult, but you will get it after carefully thinking. If you are the composer and the member of band, just ask yourself that whether your writing mind-set now is as same as before or not。

       Otherwise，just as Kang said, do you still have the mind-set and power that surprise yourself?
