由Aslak Gurholt Rønsen和Espen Friberg在2000年成立，他俩毕业于奥斯陆国立美院。目前成员包括Aslak Gurholt Rønsen，Thomas Tengesdal Nordby，Martin Lundell和Yorel Cayla。
Yokoland 与平面设计师、摄影师、插画师、艺术指导、编辑、作家、音乐家、建筑师、工业设计师、程序员和动画师开展广泛合作，主要为文化项目设计：出版社、音乐厂牌、建筑事务所、博物馆与画廊。同时也做艺术装置项目。
Yokoland 的设计在全球获得广泛关注。德国著名的 Gestalten 出版社于2006年出版了 Yokoland 的作品集。
Yokoland 凭2009年在NOTCH艺术节北京站的参展作品“中国版 (Chinese Copy)”荣获2010年度挪威创意设计大赛 Visuelt 设计金奖。
Yokoland在NOTCH10的参展作品“洋子国”具有北欧所有的陈词滥调：峡湾，森林，山岭，现代主义建筑，安静的人，自由性爱，社会民主政府和活泼俏皮的艺术与设计。洋子国仿佛在世博也有自己的国家馆。它包含科学，文化，体育，历史书籍，教育和政治生活各方面。它会显示资料片，地图，旗帜，制服，护照，旅行书籍，还有国歌。它有自己的礼品店销售纪念品和领馆，可以向中国居民签发前往Yokoland的签证。该参展作品的制作得到了挪威驻上海总领馆的赞助。
Yokoland将参加NOTCH10北京 上海站开放工作营单元。

Yokoland make cooperation with gRaphic designers, photographers, illustrators, art directors, editors, writers, musicians, architects, industrial designers, animators, programmers and extensive, mainly as a cultural project design: publishing, music label , construction firms, museums and galleries. Art installation projects also do.
Yokoland design has won wide attention in the world. Germany's famous press Gestalten published a portfolio of Yokoland in 2006.
Yokoland depends NOTCH Festival 2009 in Beijing Exhibition station work, "the Chinese version (Chinese Copy)" won the 2010 Norwegian Created Award Design Competition Visuelt.
At NOTCH10 Yokoland present the installation "Yokoland, the Nation" echoing NOTCH10’s theme REPUBLIC. It has all the cliches of Scandinavia: the fjords, woods, mountains, modernistic architecture, quiet people, free sexuality, a social democratic government and lively and playful art and design. The Country Yokoland is presented as if it were a country in the World Expo, with a national pavilion. It has important aspects such as art, science, culture, sports, history books, education and political life. It will show information films, maps, flags, uniforms, passports, travel books and play its national anthem etc, etc. It has a gift shop selling Yokoland souvenirs and a consulate where Chinese inhabitants can get a visa to Yokoland. The production is sponsored by the Norwegian Consulate General in Shanghai.
